Critt M2A has launched its new test center intended for batteries for future gigafactories in Pas-de-Calais!
Known until now for its expertise in thermal energy, the Critt M2A, installed in Bruay-la-Buissière, inaugurated, on October 3, its Giga Test Center (GTC) a unique testing and approval center for batteries produced by gigafactories.Thanks to an investment of 9 million, made up of fundraising, loans and public aid, it inaugurated its Giga Test Center (GTC), a testing and validation center for batteries produced by surrounding gigafactories.
This GTC consists of a building of more than 10 m² containing 000 climatic chambers, 12 calendar chambers, a bunker for abusive tests with smoke scrubber and a vibrating pot.
“It is literally a miracle that this radical transformation was able to see the light of day in less than a year, because the work just started in December 2022,” says Jérôme Bodelle, CEO. We reused all the spaces left free by the activity dedicated to thermal energy.” The Critt M2A is not new to electromobility. In 2015, part of its activity was already devoted to the management of electrical energy storage and the electric traction chain.“The fact of having anticipated this diversification of activities by developing this training and testing department before marketing allowed us to develop skills internally. This allowed us to establish a committed relationship on a large volume of tests with ACC over a period of 7 years.”
