Eco-responsibility sticks to his skin

To that of eco-transition, Jean Marc Barki (president of Stikoïa) prefers the term eco-responsibility. In this way, he immediately reminds us that we each have the possibility and the responsibility to act and to show agility.

For the entrepreneur, it is in everyone's ability to adapt that lies the “response” to the challenge of our time.

With a real sense of responsibility, he does not hesitate to specify how he would appreciate that “the rules are made to adapt when necessary. A principle that he accepts and cultivates himself within his company and in each of his commitments. And to regret that too often, this idea is not accepted and even less implemented by those who, thinking to protect, in reality disempower.

CSR for DNA

However, make no mistake about it, Jean Marc Barki is not what should be called a climatosceptic, quite the contrary. If he allows himself this somewhat “offbeat” position, it is not out of a spirit of contradiction either, but rather because he is resolutely pragmatic.

As proof, the circular economy and corporate social responsibility (CSR) have been omnipresent at Stikoïa (Sealock until recently) since the mid-90s. Long before "collective awareness", he and his brother, shareholder and in charge of commercial action, are not the kind of followers. They prefer to anticipate, advance and move the lines, rather than suffer the limits.

For a long time, recycling or a waste rate of less than 1% on the side of the production tool have been, among many others, concrete actions implemented within the company based in Sallaumines and which employs 25 people. .

“The smallest glue pellet is like a diamond”. This idea, shared by the whole team, is a real driving force. “We are trying to be the first producer in the world to manufacture 100% of our glues from bio-sourced products. » A challenge, a constant motivation for the company, the last independent French supplier of adhesives for manufacturers. There were about thirty of them in the 90s. “With 'Cléopâtre', the glue present on all school tables, we are the two players in the sector in France. Jean-Marc Barki willingly quotes the brand and its managers, with whom he has regular exchanges. A demonstration of what deeply characterizes the man eager for sharing, approaches and collective solutions.

A model of collective intelligence

In a form of appeal to everyone's responsibility, Jean-Marc Barki expresses the wish that French industrialists and in the first place those of Hauts-de-France and Artois in particular, come together to work together and transform our ways of life.

Always pragmatic, he measures better than anyone else how much the fabric of French SMEs has a role to play. He would appreciate that everyone be aware that this fabric constitutes the real relevant scale to move the lines. An inspiration, a vision that he defends with determination within the Medef or the French Fab.

Innovation

“Innovating means finding a solution that no one has thought of before. This does not mean inventing a new molecule. It's very different. What matters above all is the use. »

With force-conviction, Jean-Marc Barki involves all those who listen to him and see him at work. His passion for the company: component of the improvement of a global system, literally sticks us on the spot. We could listen to it for a long time yet. But already, he must go back on the roads. Going to promote the know-how and a vision of the future to which he dedicates every minute of his existence with real simplicity and great relational quality. It is perceptible in each interaction with her collaborators or even with this high school student looking for an internship who, without knowing it, in the hall of this industrial flagship of eco-transition, addressed the boss of the place . Agile, it is indisputably. He is just as sensitive when it comes to being useful or listening to others.
