Invest on Bethune-Bruay

The Béthune-Bruay urban community brings together 100 Commons, nearly 280 inhabitants, in an area of some 000 km². Its main particularity is to revolve around two central towns, Béthune and Bruay-La-Buissière, in a complex rural character very marked (62 towns with less than 2 inhabitants), on the edge of the former Hauts-de-France mining area.

“Territories of industry »

The industry represents around 12 direct jobs in nearly 000 industrial establishments, located in particular in 8 industrial zones. The agglomeration has major sites linked to large international groups and more modest sites which were, for the most part, created on the territory and are developing there.

More broadly, economic development is embodied through various areas of intervention, which are: the Social and Solidarity Economy, raising awareness of the spirit of initiative, trade and employment. However, our missions also aim to to accompany industrial and business development projects (SMEs, in particular industrial SMEs) and to set up businesses (adapted real estate policy) to accentuate this dynamic of business creation. L'innovation and technological and academic development also drives us.

À the initiative of several projects structuring

The agglomeration drives new developments, in particular:

  • the level of University campus of Béthune, which is available through the Faculty of Applied Sciences, an IUT and 4 applied research laboratories
  • but also through the CRITT M2A and CREPIM, 2 internationally renowned technical centers located in Bruay-La-Buissière.

Other perspectives are also opening up to the territory within the framework of the digital roadmap of the territory in connection with projects linked to the Smart-City, the development of the Public Works Campus around the public works trades high school in Bruay-La-Buissière or the development of the Intelligent Territory cluster.
